The effects of poor written communication skills are negative and far-reaching, and yet learning how to write successfully is not inherently difficult.
Through his 7-hour Optimal Words seminar and 80-page writing guidebook, Simon Hertnon reveals the simple principles behind concise and effective writing so that you and your staff can improve your writing skills — guaranteed.
- Duration: two half-days or one full day
- Content: one session on 'thinking' and one on 'writing-up' (details)
- Materials: 80-page, full-colour guidebook (see contents) plus handouts
- Tailorable: yes
- Participant numbers: 6-12 per seminar
- Cost: check here
- Venue: in-house
Who should attend?
Everyone in your organisation who writes for more than an hour per day — particularly the chief executive and all senior management. Why? Because your words count most and, while you may not have time to write verbosely, you still need to understand the issues and opportunities and lead the necessary culture change (from 'more words' to 'useful words') by example.
Ineffective writing can be made 'less bad' by better trained staff; with good management, it can be avoided altogether.
Before the course
Simon works on tailoring and scheduling with someone at your organization (typically the HR or training manager). He also supplies a pre-course questionnaire, which captures strengths, weaknessess, opportunities, and barriers from the perspective of each attendee.
